Winter Beauty Trends Going Viral on TikTok
Watch out for two “hot” makeup trends taking over winter 23/24. We’re seeing the “frosted” makeup look focusing on light eyeshadows, highlighter, and pastel pink lips. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the “espresso” makeup trend is achieved through dramatic eyeliner and a brown lip.
Last year, “I’m cold” makeup took over social media. “Frosted” makeup is 2023’s revamp with “frosty eyeshadow” from the late 90s serving as the main inspo for the lewk.
“Espresso” makeup is the next natural progression of many other food-inspired looks that originated on TikTok (i.e. glazed donut makeup, strawberry makeup, the list goes on…). Shop the products that create these trending looks below.
Frosted Makeup
One of the recurring themes of the past few years is a ‘90s resurgence, so it makes sense that frosted makeup is coming back into popularity. Seen everywhere from Chanel runways to Charlotte Tilbury campaigns, these sparkly and bold looks are perfect for the holidays, according to Harper’s Bazaar. In addition to iridescent eyeshadows, there is an emphasis on glowy skin through glossy pink lips and shimmery, cool-tone highlighter.
Espresso Makeup
According to GLAMOUR, espresso makeup is the “deeper, sultrier rendition of the [latte makeup] look to take us into winter, and it’s perfect if a moodier grunge glam aesthetic is more your vibe.” The key components to achieve this makeup look are cocoa eyeshadow shades, smudged brown and black eyeliner, and a nude or brown lip.
